How to measure to pick the right size
- Measure the height from the floor to the top of the mattress/cushion where your dog will step (furniture height).
- Weigh your dog and note breed/age — use the "Best for" column above to find the closest match.
- Confirm the furniture height fits the recommended range for the chosen step count. The top step should come close to the furniture surface (within ~1–2 in) so your dog has a short final step up.
- Consider mobility: for arthritic or very old dogs, pick the size with more steps (gentler, lower rises) even if they are near the upper weight range.
