How to confirm this feeder works for your pet:
- Weigh your pet. If your dog is under ~25 lbs, this feeder is generally appropriate. Large breeds or dogs over ~30 lbs may prefer a raised or larger bowl setup.
- Measure a typical single meal in cups (use a standard US measuring cup). Divide the feeder capacity (~19 cups) by that meal size to estimate how many meals or days between refills. Example: 1 cup per meal → ~19 meals stored.
- Check bowl access: have your pet stand and measure from the floor to their chin (or top of shoulders if you prefer raised bowls). This feeder is low-profile and comfortable for pets with shoulder/chin height under about 18 inches. If your pet stands taller or prefers raised bowls, consider using a separate elevated feeding stand.
- If possible, compare your pet’s regular bowl width to the photos; the included stainless steel bowls are low and wide for easy access by most cats and small dogs.
